Precise etymology unknown; probably existed (though unattested) in Old English. Cognate with Dutch pad, dialectal German Padde, Swedish padda, Danish padde, and possibly ancestor to the pad-like English paddle.

What is the best kind of saddle pad to use?
Q. I have a foundation bred Quarter horse (so he is wide) and i was wondering what kind of saddle pad would be the best to use for him i want something with padding but i don't want to pay a lot for it. Any advice ot tips would be great?
